Legends of Starr-Gennett

The Legends of Starr-Gennett portrait series was a dream project rooted deeply in my love for my hometown, Richmond, Indiana. This small city holds an outsized place in music history as the home of the historic Starr-Gennett recording company—where legends like Louis Armstrong, Hoagy Carmichael, and Bix Beiderbecke made early recordings. Creating these portraits allowed me to honor that incredible legacy through art. It was both a personal and professional joy to celebrate Richmond’s role in shaping American music.
