Theatre Props

Client: Richmond Civic Theatre

This grouping showcases a range of theatrical props and creative builds I’ve designed over the years. From large-scale backdrops and set decorations to eye-catching event displays and hand-painted garments used for promotional efforts, these pieces reflect the diverse needs of live performance and immersive storytelling. Each project was tailored to the production’s theme, timeline, and budget—often requiring inventive solutions and quick turnarounds. The result is a lively mix of practical artistry and theatrical flair.

This show artwork was created as the official logo for a Richmond Civic Theatre production and later adapted into a unique, hand-painted design on the back of a denim jacket. The customized jacket served as a bold, wearable marketing piece—bringing the production’s spirit into the community with creativity and flair.

These oversized “faux” paintings were created as set decoration for The Addams Family – The Musical, a production for which I also designed the sets. Inspired by the family's wealth and eccentric taste, the artwork added a dramatic and unexpected twist to their spooky, upscale aesthetic. Each piece was painted to feel oddly familiar yet delightfully offbeat—perfect for the Addams' world.

This swirling, dramatic backdrop was painted for the villain’s lair in Richmond Civic Theatre’s annual Melodrama fundraiser. Designed to evoke chaos and mischief, it added bold visual energy and a touch of comic menace to the over-the-top production.
